• Bring your reading book to class every day.
• One point penalty per day for not having a book to read!
• Choose a book before or after school or during lunch. Books can be any genre -(Fiction, Biography, Memoir, Fantasy, Mystery, etc.) At least ten percent of points should come from non-fiction, such as biography, science, geography, cultures, history.
• Use the AR book list, or check with our librarian for ideas.
• Read at least 35 Accelerated Reader points per quarter to reach the Million Word level. Most books are 5-10 points, you may look inside the book cover in our library to see how much credit that book will give you. Some students need to read twice as much this quarter, because they have absolutely no points for the first quarter
• Have an adult or teacher sign your AR book log when you are done, take the test within three days of completing the book, and keep the test printout for your semester portfolio.
• Keep track of all the books you read on your AR book log and take all the AR tests for those books to receive full credit.
